[In the following, "You" and "Zorya" are Ulrich, our BSG. You say "You enter the vineyard at that place, Viola remembers from coming here. She finds the fairy trott without any trouble." MTKnife says "trod :)" MTKnife says "actually I think trods are only in Arcadia, which is at hte top of hte regio" You say "Well, what you use now is a trod/way you remember. And you know that you can enter the Regio this way." MTKnife nods Viola nods You say "Whatever you want to call that. :)" Viola trods along, with Edward at her side. You say "Anyway it looks almost the same as any usual vineyard except for the fact, that the plants seem to step aside when you pass. You can't see them moving, but you somehow get the impression that they do." Viola nods. You say "You also have no trouble finding the place another trod/way would allow you to pass to arcadia - and further to england - the way you came. It does not look the same, but you know it _IS_ the same." Viola nods. You say "However, this is not the way to go today. You follow a small path through the vine plants that seems to lead to the center of the yard." Viola says "What do I kno about the faerires here already?" You say "You've been here before, but did not spend to much time investigating. The fairies here are very closely nature-linked. Like dryads (Oh, oh... translation problems). Well, fairies living in plants or maybe being essential parts of the plants." MTKnife says "dryads work,s perfectly well in English" You say "Pleasant people, most of them, but with little contact to anyone else and with a somewhat obscure sense of humor." MTKnife says "well they are faeries..." You say "You've heard of some Vine-King that's supposed to rule and live here. But you have not met him - though you hope to meet him today." Viola nods You say "And things turn out to be much easier then one might expect: The way to the middle of the yard is about three times a long as you expected, but once there you can't miss it: A kind of inn it seems. " Viola says "how odd" You say "Theres no inn in the mundane world however." Viola nods You say "Its not very big. Have you ever seen pictures of old vine-cellars / vine restaurants along the river Mosel?" Viola shakes her head. You say "Uh... well, picture a small house no bigger than two or three rooms, but with a garden at least twice it's size, filled with tabels and chairs. There are vineplants growing up some wooden stand giving a nice shade." Viola says "ok" You say "That's about it. The only difference here is: the house is not built, it has grown. It's completely grown out of vineplants." Viola says "ahhh" You say "There are a few stone statues in the garden. The tables are made/grown of stone and there are no chairs at all. :)" Viola says "statues of what?" You say "Humanoid Fay, you'd say." You say "some have wings, but most don't." You say "Oh, they are all female." Viola nods. Viola says "Anything alive here except the plants?" You say "Edward would say, a perfect work of art." Edward nods You say "you don't see someone like an innkeeper or the like. But theres a dryad standing at one table looking curious at Edward." Edward smiles to the dryad. You say "The dryad makes a shy inviting gesture - mostly with her eyes." Viola says "Do I think somethign ntwoard might happen if Edward goes over there?" Zorya does not know anything about puppets and will not drop any dryad. Viola says "er untoward" You say "Well, if you leave them alone it might take a few hundred years until you see him again, but as long as you stay close, there's no danger," Edward walks toward the dryad. The dryad smiles charmingly. Edward says "Hello, milady" The dryad says: Now that's a good looking man... What's your name, darling? Edward says "Edward of York, milady" The dryad says: Edward (it sounds a bit strange, the way she pronounces it)? Thats a pretty name for a pretty man. :) Edward says "Only a beauty such as yourself could be a true judge of such things." The dryad asks: Now, would Edward of York like to share a good vine with a lonesome lady of the trees? Edward says "I never turn down good wine." The dryad smiles. Edward smiles back The dryad calles something in a foreign tongue that sounds as if she was singing. You say "A huge manlike Fay appears from inside." Viola nods. He brings two crystal glasses of deep red wine. Edward takes one. Viola as if he was about to ask a question. You say "He serves them to Edward and the dryad. - Then he stops and looks at Viola as if he was about to ask a question." Viola looks back quizzically. You say "...but he does not say a word..." You say "Then he shrugs and enters the inn again." You say "Meanwhile the dryad tries her best to twist Edward around her fingers." Edward smiles. You say "Oh, by the way: It seems to be late Oktober here - no matter what time it is in the mundane world." Viola nods. You say "Two vine plants arrive and enter the inn." Viola nods. You say "This time you really saw them walk around!" Viola nods thoughtfully. You say "Few minutes later they come out again - without the grapes." Viola giggles. You say "Viola watches Edward melt in the gaze of the dryad and does nothing?" Viola tugs Edward's sleeve. You say "Oh, the wine is perfect. It just seems to have more Alc in it than it originally tasted like." Edward feels a bit dizzy. Edward turns to Viola, "It's good wine, milady." Edward says "A little strong" The dryad asks: Oh, does my darling Edward not feel well? Maybe you want to rest yourself for a few minutes? Edward says "Rest? Where?" The dryad says: Oh, I've got a nice tree just around the corner. I could tend you headace and your little company here does not need to worry about you while she does her buisness here. Edward feels a little headace creeping up his skull. :) Edward says "um..no, I can't leave milady Viola. Thank you though for your kind offer." You say "Well, the headace is not to serious. :)" The dryad looks rather disappointed. Edward smiles charmingly. The dryad says: Oh... Well, I'll better leave you to your little girl here. Thanx for sharing this nice wine with me. Maybe you'd like to visit me later? Again two vineplants enter the inn and leave without grapes little later. Edward says "Well perhaps milady, but I can't leave milady Viola alone." The dryad looks at Viola for the first time. She raises one eyebrow. Then she says: Yes, she's still almost a child, but I'm sure she could look after herselfs for a few hours. She only better keeps close to the inn. The dryad smiles at Edward promissingly. Edward smiles. The dryad leaves. Edward somehow got the impression, the dryad had kissed him before leaving, but he is not sure. You say "So you are alone here." Edward nods. Viola looks around. Again two vineplants enter the inn and leave without grapes little later. Viola strolls over toward the inn to get a closer look. You say "The moment you come close to the entrance, the huge face of the innkeeper - if he was the innkeeper - appears, makes a rumbling noise and disappears inside." Viola pokes her nose in. You say "One of the statues makes a grumbling noise and steps toward the entrance." Viola turns around and smiles at teh statue. The statue gives Viola a smile, but passes inside. Viola follows the statue. Edward follows Viola. You say "Inside you see a huge wooden tub filled with vinegrapes. The statue climbs into the tub with something that sounds like a sigh and starts to walk around." You say "There are lots of wooden barrels as well." Viola watches. You say "The huge innkeeper sits somewhere in a corner and seems to clean one barrel." Viola keeps an eye on him. MTKnife smiles. You say "The innkeeper keeps an eye on his barrel and two one the statue. - He's got three eyes." Viola says "interesting" Zorya nods. You say "Since neither inkeeper nor statue say a word, what do you do?" Viola whispers to Edward. Edward says "Good sir?" A very strong wine smells fills the inn. You say "The innkeeper moves one eye from the statue to Edward." You say "Well, not the eye itself. :)" MTKnife hehs You say "Only it's point of attention." Edward says "This is very fine way that you make here, sir." You say "The innkeeper makes a grunting noise that somehow sounds satisfied." Edward says "Is there any chance that you might be interested in trading some of this fine wine, sir?" You say "The innkeeper shrugs." Edward nods thoughtfully. You say "The statue stops walking around and suggests: Maybe you'd better ask the King?" Edward says "The king? How would I go about doing that?" You say "The innkeeper makes an angry noise and the statue hurries up to proceede her walking circles." You say "The innkeeper gestures to the entrance." Viola walks to the entrance, folled by Edward. You say "Outside has changed a lot." Viola says "what is it?" You say "It's still the garden, but it is filled with vineplants and statues bowing to a table." You say "Err... well, maybe not the table but the two feet "tall" boy that just managed to climb it." Viola says "What's the boy like?" You say "Well, mostly humanoid. But his hairs is bright orange-red. And he has six fingers on each of his hands." Viola says "interesting" You say "besides that he looks like any naughty little boy - except for his size of course." Viola says "I watch" You say "He watches you." Viola smiles. The boy says: I've been waiting for you, little sister. His voice is _surprisingly_ deep. You say "More like the voice of a giant to be honest." Viola smiles. Viola nods deferentially. The boy says: So you came here to trade? Viola says "um....well...er...yes" Edward interrupts, "Milord, milady is Viola, follower of Merinita, and she's come to speak with you about the fruits of your vineyards. The boy says: I know. Edward says "Excellent, milord!" The boy says: Your pet is very forward, little sister. Do you always allow him to speak at his will? The boy gives Edward a wide grin. Viola says "um..well..see? it's not like um..no that's not it" Viola thinks Edward says "If I may, milady...milord, I speak at milady's will, not my own." Viola smiles and nods vigorously. Now the boy looks quizzically. Edward says "What, milord?" The boy says: Well you seem to be a generous person. I hope you will show this tendency towards us as well. MTKnife says "what person did hte boy address with that remark about 'generous person'?" You say "The boy thinks, it is very generous of Viola to let a human speak when he wants to. :)" Viola smiles. You say "So Viola is the one addressed. :)" MTKnife nods Obviously the boy waits for an answer. Viola says "er...well..of course, milord" The boy says: Well, then proove it. You will pass the circle of seasons and then we will meet again. Edward says "Circle of seasons, milord?" The boy looks at Edward this time. He says: For our little pet who does not know our ways: There are four toadstool circles in this vineyard. One for every season. You enter each circle once. Each circle stands for one test. You may choose which test to take, you may fail three times. making it in one test is enough. You may take as many of your friends with you as you like. When you're done, we meet again. Viola thinks. Viola says "do I..? when will? um..can I start when I want?" The boy says: Just remember one thing: The things you will see are not real. However all damage you might take IS real. You might die trying. So choose your test carefully. Viola nods. You say "You start when you are ready to do it. Once you enter the circle, you are in it. Once you are in, there is only one way to survive: take one test and succeed." Viola nods deferentially and grabs Edward's sleeve, leading him back the way they came. You say "You take one step of the inns garden and find yourself in the mundane vineyard - feeling dizzy." MTKnife nods You say "On the way back to the Cov. the ghosts seem to keep some distance of you." Viola nods
