Jarvis says "Now, Stefanos, tell me what you know of your covenantmates' disappearances."
Stefanos gives his account of the findings of the Lucias' assassination
You say "And why do you think Helios and Thofios had reason to kill Lucias?"
Stefanos says "Have you not been listening to me... Quesitor? "
Stefanos says "what happened in Constantinople... Hekios tried to kill *me* then! "
Jarvis ponders.
Stefanos says "And then he found an arcane connection to Lucias or something and killed him!"
Jarvis says "Maybe we could make this easier if you lowered your Parma so I can make sure of your story?"
Stefanos says "I have your word that verifying my words is the only thing you will do?"
Jarvis says "Of course."
Stefanos lowers his parma but watches Jarvis carefully as he casts the spell
Stefanos is ready to jump away or raise his parma if something seems wrong
Stefanos says "OOC: what's he casting?"
Jarvis makes a few quick gestures for an InMe spell.
Jarvis says "Now, please repeat your story."
Stefanos says "Spont? or formulaic/"
You say "formulaic"
Stefanos says "mag?"
You say "hard to tell"
Stefanos says "OK..."
Stefanos says "It all started back in Constantinople, when the crusaders were knocking on the front gates..."
Jarvis nods.
Stefanos says "Mikelle, Lucias and I were gathering last supplies for the covenant, when we saw Thofios and Helios on top of a building, apparently casting some nmassive ritual..."
Stefanos says "aparently, they botched it."
Jarvis says "How did you know this?"
Stefanos says "I watched them during the casting (OOC: didn't I?)"
You say "from a distance"
Jarvis says "and?"
Stefanos says "And then we saw them in the street."
Jarvis says "How did you know they botched the spell?"
Stefanos says "Before we could ask them what the fuck they thought they were doing... Helios started to cast a spell... this time at me!"
Stefanos says "some kind of CrIg..."
Stefanos says "I was so startled that I did nothing..."
Stefanos says "then I saw that nothing happened when he cast the spell"
Jarvis says "Stefanos, please answer my question:  how did you know they botched the spell?"
Stefanos says "I figured that out when nothing happened with the spell he cast at me!"
Jarvis says "Do you have any idea what spell they were trying to cast?"
Stefanos says "OOC: do I?"
You say "all you know is you saw the building blow up"
Stefanos says "then that's what I tell him"
Stefanos says "that was probably an indication that they botched!"
Jarvis says "Are you sure it was they who botched this spell?"
Stefanos says "What are you suggesting?"
Jarvis says "I'm not suggesting anything."
Jarvis says "I'm asking how you know it was Helios and Thofios who attempted to cast the spell in quesiton."
Stefanos says "And I already told you what I saw!"
Stefanos says "Helios and Thofios on top of a building"
Stefanos says "casting a spell..."
Stefanos says "building explodes..."
Jarvis says "Are you sure it was Helios and Thofios on the building?  How close were you?"
Stefanos says "helios tries to kill me"
Stefanos tells him
Stefanos says "nothing happens..."
Jarvis says "Yes, he tried to kill you _after_ the botch"
Jarvis says "But the botch you observed only from a distance, right?  How can you be sure it was Helios and Thofios?"
Stefanos says "I SAW them!!!!"
Jarvis says "What I mean, Stefanos, is that you saw these men fro ma distance.  How can you be _positive_ it was Helios and Thofios?"
Stefanos says "positive? No. Relatively sure? Yes"
Jarvis says "Did you check the site of the botch for the sigil of either magus?"
Stefanos says "what sigil? they botched!"
Jarvis says "Yes, but a sigil should still be evident."
Stefanos says "OOC: I wasn't aware that sigils stayed even with a botch"
Stefanos says "No... didn't check"
You say "Yes, I woudl think they would--it's still your magic after all"
Jarvis nods.
Jarvis says "so what happened after Helios tried to kill you?"
Stefanos says "Helios and Thofios left into the crowd and we ran back to the cov"
Jarvis says "And then what?"
Stefanos says "persephone told us to leave..."
Stefanos says "She said she didn't know what would happen once they found us again, once they had control of their magic again"
Jarvis nods.
Jarvis says "And then what did you do?"
Stefanos says "we left!"
Jarvis says "Who knew where you were going?"
Stefanos says "no one... not even we knew where we were going at that point!"
Jarvis nods and considers.
Jarvis says "Have you seen any sign of Thofios or Helios since then?"
Stefanos says "only around Lucias when we found what was left of him"
Jarvis says "And what did you find there?"
Stefanos says "I tell him all my findings in that case... including the absence of the ghost and Helios's sigil"
Jarvis says "Did Lucias act strangely in any way before his death?"
Stefanos says "you mean more strangely than usual?"
Jarvis smiles.  "Yes."
Stefanos says "then no..."
Stefanos says "OOC: did Stef with his +3 per see anything?"
You say "nope"
Stefanos says "OK, then I tell Jarvis so"
Jarvis says "Did Mikelle behave at all strangely around the time of Lucias' death, or before she left?"
Stefanos says "OOC: he wasn't was he?"
Stefanos says "I mean she?"
You say "not that I know of"
Stefanos says "Then I tell him so"
Jarvis says "And do you ahve any indication of why Mikelle left or where she might have gone?"
Stefanos says "nope"
Jarvis says "ok."
Stefanos says "anything else?"
Jarvis says "Raise your Parma."
Stefanos raises his parma
Stefanos says "OOC: now what?"
Jarvis says "It may be difficult to prove that Helios or Thofios cast the spell that you saw botch--though as powerful as it evidently was, it may still be detectable with the proper ritual."
Stefanos says "OK... What about teh spell that killed Lucias?"
Stefanos says "My InVi detected it..."
Stefanos says "and I saw Helios's sigil with my own eyes"
Jarvis says "However, it certainly does seem that there's evidence enough of Helios' attempt to kill you, and of his murder of Lucias, to demand that he present himself at the next Tribunal."
Stefanos says "what about Thofios?"
Jarvis says "There may be more trouble convincing my fellow Quaesitores that Thofios should also be asked to the Tribunal, but I'm sure that the absence of such an established magus--a Tremere no less--under such suspicious circumstances would be duly noted."
Stefanos says "When is the next Grand Tribunal (ooc)"
Jarvis says "But it remains to be seen whether this business will be enough to justify the calling of a special Tribunal, or whether it will wait for the regular one."
You say "you want hte rgular Tribunal, not the Grand one"
Stefanos says "but we are Novgorod and they are Thebes"
You say "either Tribunal will be in 1207--3 years"
Stefanos says "how about you go talk to them! and cast your spells on them"
Jarvis smiles, "We must find them first."
Stefanos says "Are they missing?"
You say "you always go to a regualr Tribuanl firsst--you can't take business directly ot grand tribuanl evne if it crosses boudnary lines"
Jarvis nods.  "They disappeared from Constantinople at the same time that you did."
Stefanos says "rats!"
Jarvis says "I'd also like to know what Tribunal you plan to charter this covenant in--it's not very clear where the boundary between Thebes and Novgorod lies."
Stefanos says "I think the general concensus is to be in Thebes"
Jarvis nods.
Stefanos says "but we will have to decide at a council"
Jarvis says "Well I think I'll stay around here to witness your charter and make a copy of it."
Stefanos says "very well... if there is nothing more, I have work to do"
Jarvis says "And then I'll have to travel back to Anatolia to consult with my colleagues."
Jarvis nods.
