You say "in fact grogs have been put on chicken watch, but to no avail..."

You say "Although you are faairly sure now that they're disppearing at night,  not during the day."

A big black shape flies into the tree. A large owl lands on a branch a bit over Viola.
Viola looks up.  "Hmmm...owl."

Viola watches to see what the owl will do.

Viola rolls the die, which comes up a 8.
You say "okay, it works"
Viola looks up crossly, "NOT apprentice."
The owl says: Huh?
Viola glares.
The owl stares at Viola.
Viola stares back.
The owl slightly tilts her head.
Zorya rolls a die, it comes up... 2
Viola rolls the die, which comes up a 10.
Viola rolls the die, which comes up a 5.
The words Not apprentice sound in Violas head.
Viola says "NO"
The owl says: Hoooo.
Viola says "Stupid owl."
The owl flapps her wings.
Viola ignores the owl.
Suddenly the owl changes to a women sitting on the branch. The woman says: Owl yes. Stupid no.
btw: The woman is completely naked, about 1.60m tall and very thin.
Viola stares.  "Well I'm not apprentice."
Zorya says "Hooo.... You are young."
Viola thinks.  "And you're not owl."
Zorya says "I am."
Viola says "How?"
The woman has bright orange eyes. She still looks somehow owlish.
Zorya says "I'm Zorya and I AM an owl."
Zorya turns back to owl-shape.
Viola shrugs, "OK."
Viola says "You be an owl."
The owl takes a look at the book. Hermetic?
Viola nods.
It takes a few minutes but Zorya turns back to human shape.
Zorya says "Interesting book?"
Viola says "Well...they aren't all?"
Zorya says "Most"
Zorya blinks.
Viola nods.
Viola says "You're here, why?"
Zorya says "Your covenant?"
Viola says "Yes, my covenant"
Zorya says "Nice place. Good Aura."
Viola nods.
Zorya says "I'll build my nest here."
Viola thinks.
Viola says "Well."
Viola says "Not sure."
Zorya says "Not sure?"
Viola nods and shrugs.
Viola says "maybe...but...maybe...hm...I...ask I think."
Zorya says "OK, over there. (point to next tree)"
Viola says "Still ask."
Zorya says "Ask what?"
Zorya says "The tree did not oppose!"
Viola says "but your tree?  no."
Zorya says "What do you mean "your tree"?"
Viola says "It's not.  See?"
Zorya says "Sure."
Zorya says "Why should it."
(That was NOT a question!)
Viola says "Well..see?  it's not. Ours."
Zorya says "hooo?"
Viola says "Us."
Zorya obviously does not understand.
Viola says "Our covenant.  And tree."
Zorya says "You mean, you OWN it?"
Viola says "Well...hmmm..."
Viola says "someting about negotiations"
Zorya says "How can you own a tree?"
Zorya says "It did not say so!"
Viola shrugs, "In our land....See?"
Zorya says "What?"
Zorya says "hooo... You mean, you OWN land? How?"
Zorya flapps with her arms.
Viola looks at Zorya and wonders who let her out of the barn.
Viola sighs.  "It just is."
Zorya looks confused.
Viola shrugs.  "Anyway, ask"
Zorya says "ask what?"
Viola rolls her eyes.  "The tree"
Zorya says "I DID ask the tree!"
Zorya says "It did not say no!"
Viola looks frustrated.
Viola says "Well yes, tree...ask it.  But also ask...um...tree...no covenant of tree.  See?"
Zorya says "Hooo...?"
Viola says "Us, I said."
Zorya says "hooo... tree says yes. viola says no?"
Viola says "Not ME."
Zorya sighs.
Viola sighs, closes her book, and climbs down out of the tree.
Zorya jumps down as well (still naked)
Viola looks back over her shouler, disturbed.
Zorya snarls at Viola.
Viola rolls her eyes and keeps walking.
Zorya follows Viola.
Viola stops.
Viola rolls a die, it comes up... 4
Zorya stops.
Viola turns into a butterfly, then floats on.
Zorya turns into a big owl and follows.
Zorya says "An eagle-owl by the way. About 72cm tall. A giant bird anyway."
Zorya says "That was OOC."
The butterfly sighs.
The owl says Hoo?
The butterfly flies into the covenant compound and disappears around a corner and into a doorway.
The owl lands on the roof and waits.
Viola walks into the covenant and mutters something about "Stupid owl talking to me" before disappearing into her sanctum.
You say "Anyone inside curious about this?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Anyone inside *know* about this?"
You say "well, if you happen to be nearby when she comes in, sure."
You say "which give than only a couple of hte  buildigns have been fully repaired so far, isn't unlikely"

Jan steps outside and looks around.
Zorya sits on the roof - in owl shape.
Stefanos says "OOC: could you give us a brief run down on what we see, scott?"
Jan comes back in and approaches Lucias...cautiously.
You say "at the momaent, jsut hte inside of the building"

Jan says "Lord Lucias, there's a very big owl on the roof, and Lady Viola claims it talked to her."
Jan says "I think that's what she said anyway"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Really?  How nice for her.  Perhaps the trees will sing next."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Well, lets see this owl, at least"
Zorya OOC wouldn't be surprised.
Jan shrugs and leads you out the door.
Stefanos says "Do not rush to conclusions Lucias, I know Viola is strange, but..."
Lucias ex Bonisagus starts shuffling things into a neater order, before standing up and walking outside to show willing
Jan points up to the roof.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "How nice.  An owl."
Stefanos follows Jan outside
Stefanos says "So it's an owl... so wwhat?"
The owl says: Hooo.
Lucias ex Bonisagus walks back inside

Stefanos stares at the owl... "Don't you Hoo me you sack of feathers!
The owl stares at Stefanos and says Hooo?
Jan looks stricken.
Jan says "Well, it IS talking!"
Stefanos says "So it's a talking owl... I have seen stranger things"
The owl jumps of the roof and a naked woman lands elegantly on the floor.
Zorya says "Yes, she's talking. Salve Sodales."
Stefanos looks the woman up and down... You may want to put on some clothes, owl...
Zorya says "Clothes? Why, it's warm."
Jan looks at Stefanos, "Is this another one of _your_ people, my lord?"
Stefanos says "for pity's sake, sodalis... we have covenfolk here..."
Zorya says "Hooo? Oh, yes, you have."
Zorya says "I noticed."
Zorya rolls a die, it comes up... 6

You say "okay, the woman doesn't seem to cast a spell, but suddenly clothes appear on her body...well, sort of"
Zorya says "I'm Zorya."
You say "it's a leather bikini that might be more appropriate in one of your finer S&M publications"
Zorya says "Oh, yes, of House Bjornaer."
Stefanos says "And who was your parens Zorya or Bjornaer?"
Zorya says "Oh, he was Auranius of Bjornaer."

Zorya says "Do you also say that tree is yours? (points to a tree)"
Stefanos says "I do not live in the tree, Bjornaer. Besides, I am reliably informed that the trees here are 'aware'. I do not claim ownership of any scentient beings"
Zorya says "Aaah! "
Zorya smiles.
Zorya says "It's a nice tree. Friendly one."
Zorya says "Nice Aura too. I want to build my nest there. The tree did allow it. what do you say?"
Jan turns to Stefanos, "My lord, whether or not the tree has a mind of its own, I should point out that it's on the land we're trying to claim here.
Stefanos whirls towards Jan: "Do not ever use that tone of voice with me, Jan... Do not challenge my words again...
Jan says "Yes my lord."
Jan waits until Stefanos had turned back around and then rolls his eyes.
Zorya tries to mimic Jans eye-rolling but fails.
Zorya looks a bit confused.
Zorya says "hooo..."
Stefanos turns backl to Zorya "and what do you want to do here, bjornaer?"
Zorya says "Learn. Live."
Zorya says "Hunt"
Stefanos says "Is the tree enough for you? Or do you wish to be a full member of this covenant?"
Zorya says "Hooo? "
Zorya says "Oh, sure, yes, both.,"
Stefanos says "You realise that membership in haunted springs is carries as much responsibility as it does privelidge? We are, but a fledgling covenant..."
Zorya says "I mean, a tree is enough, but I want to be part of the covenant, yes. A nest is good for owls, but not for books."

Stefanos says "Speaking of books... have you any to contribute to our library?"

The leather-thing drops to the floor.
The owl comes back a few minutes later with a bag in her claws.
The owl turns back into a naked human again.
Stefanos says "what leather thing?"
Zorya grabs her bag.
You say "the leather 'garments' she was wearing"
Stefanos says "what's in the bag?"
Zorya says "My books and some other stuff. "
Zorya says "Foki and all that, you know?"
Stefanos leads the others into the relative comfort of the conference room
Zorya follows (again naked, forgeting about the 'garments').
Stefanos says "coming, Lucias?"

Stefanos says "Well, owl... lets see those books that you are contributing to the cause!"
Lucias ex Bonisagus looks up, looks at Stefanos, wonders if HE'S gone crazy too, turns back to his work.
Zorya says "Hoooo?"

Zorya takes two very small books out of her bag.
Zorya says "OOC: One is a collection of legends, the other a collection of spells. Both should be copied to a larger size if you don't want to spoil your eyes."

Zorya looks confused.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "So, Zorya, wasn't it?  Did you have specific business here?"
Zorya says "specific? Well, nice trees, good to build nests and nice to talk to."
Stefanos says "Have you not been listening, Lucias, she wants to join the covenant..."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Ah.  confusion"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "But there isn't one yet?"
Zorya says "Hooo?"
Zorya flaps with her arms.
Zorya says "No Covenant? But...?"

Mikelle walks in, having been disturbed by all the noise. She looks around and sees Zorya, still naked. She raises an eyebrow.

Lucias ex Bonisagus says "There is the intent to be one.  Is the intent enough?"
Zorya says "Hello."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "AH, Mikelle.  Meet zorya ex owla"
Zorya says "Hooo!"

Stefanos turns to Zorya: "and you decided, after seeing Viola to join us?
Lucias ex Bonisagus smiles at that one
Zorya says "Viola? Oh, no. I saw lots of humans and got curious. and then the girl was reading hermetic books, so i got more interested."
Stefanos says "So Zorya, tell us why you believe you would be a good addition to this covenant"
Stefanos says "...excuse me, soon-to-be-covenant"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Thank you."
Zorya says "I'm an owl. (in a tone that seems to explain everything)"
Lucias ex Bonisagus Thinks, very loudly "Thank you, we'll call you, NEXT!"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Well, thats certainly, an interesting point.  Could you elaborate upon it?"
Zorya says "Hooo?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus gives up, and begins chewing his quill into shape to begin writing.
Zorya says "Oh, yes, honored one, owls are hunters in the night. And the nightly queens of the air."
Stefanos says "and that helps our covenant... how exactly?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "That was just plain sarcasm.  I *do* know what an owl is."

Zorya says "Sar-what?"

Zorya looks unsure. Did anybody understand that..?
Lucias ex Bonisagus didn't understand.  Not even slightly.
Zorya looks at the food, takes something, sniffs, put's it back and says: Spoiled.
Stefanos says "OOC: no, but Stefanos would never admit to that!"
Zorya says "OOC: OK, then I had success. :)"
Stefanos says "It's not spoiled, zorya, it's cooked! Something you may wish to learn about"
Zorya says "Cook? You meant you burned it? Is that a kind of sacrifice for this... what did they call it? God?"
Zorya says "OOC: I hope I don't hurt anybodies religious feelings, but Zorya does know NOTHING about religions."
Stefanos says "You must learn to live with humas rather than owls if you wish to live wih us, Zorya"

Zorya says "Hooo? I'm sure you could teach me something, one-eye. but... Honored one (this means Lucias) can a Maga and full member of the order and member of a house for about a decade be someone elses apprentice?"

Zorya obviously is very confused.

Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Well, it certainly sounds unlikely.  After all, to go back to appprenticeship sounds less than interesting.
 Oh, no - it isn't actually possible, I don't think.   After all, as a sworn member of the order, they are responsible for their actions - which an apprentice is not.
 So I guess that you'd have to be removed from the order first.  But then you could be retrained, and so forth."
Zorya says "Sounds like a lot of trouble not worth it."
Stefanos says "I was being sarcastic Lucias... sarcastic"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "But why?  Its certainly a novel idea."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "What about?"
Zorya says "Sar... - what?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Although some say that you can only truly understand something by looking at it from all sides.  And so they might wish to study magic from many possible trainings.  But surely it would be easier by far simply to talk to each 'master' rather than be formally apprenticed to them?"
Zorya says "Oh... Well, one-eye. You want to teach me? Fine. I can teach you in return."
Stefanos smiles "I think I will enjoy learning from you, Zorya... And I have much to teach also...
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Zorya, are you sayiong that you have teachings to give?  That is a worthy reason to join a covenant indeed."
Stefanos says "I vote that we allow Zorya to join our motley crew... all thos in favour?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Wait.  We can't vote yet.  We've been into this before"
Zorya says "Well, honored one, I think most of you can learn quite a lot about the ways of nature - as I could learn about the ways of you human."
Zorya says "You can't vote?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "We are not a formal covenant"
Lucias ex Bonisagus thinks, "Viola might want to comment too."

Zorya makes a coughing noise. The she spits out something that looks like a ball of fur - right out of a window if there is one.

Stefanos sends Nantos to find Viola
Lucias ex Bonisagus goes off to do so.
Viola arrives, looking unhappy, with Lucias dragging one arm and Nantos the other.
Viola says "WHAT?!"
Zorya casts a surprised look at Viola.
Lucias ex Bonisagus Please, nothing quite so uncivilised
Stefanos says "we need your vote on whether to allow Zorya into the covenant"
Zorya says "opinion, not vote."
Viola sighs. "Owl again"
Zorya says "right."
Viola says "So did you let her the tree?"
Stefanos says "the tree approved of her, Viola. Now what we want is *your* vote, not the tree's"
Viola says "Vote?  For?"
Mikelle says "As I said, I have no objections. In fact noone appears to have objections, or indeed anything useful to say at all."
Zorya says "hooo."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Well, thats an objection.  So, lets forget the idea."
Viola says "Who who?"
Zorya says "objection? who, honored one? you?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus shouts "NOT YOU AS WELL!!!"
Viola looks taken aback.
Viola rolls the die, which comes up a 9.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Will everyone PLEASE stop making hooting noises, and confusing it with a question."
Viola turns into a butterfly.
Zorya changes to owl shape and backs to the door.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "NO!  I am going to roast the next person who changes into an animal of some kind!"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Now, will everyone please change back and let us discuss this rationally?"
Zorya changes back but keeps close to the window.
Viola changes back as well, but looks suspicious.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Thank you."
Viola says "Discuss?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Now.  Viola, to explain - you have introduced this woman, our sodalis Zorya of bjornaer to us, and she has expressed an interest in joining with us in vcovenant.  Do you have anopinion on the issue?"
Viola shrugs.  "Why not?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Why not?  I should think you should have an opinion, so let us hear it?"
Viola says "I said."
Viola looks thoroughly exaperated.
Lucias ex Bonisagus more softly "You didn't say in any way I could hear or understand, would you clarify for those of us who follow striaghter lines of thought?
Zorya turns to Stefanos and says: I've got much to learn. I don't understand them...
Viola narrows her eyes and is clearly thinking butterflyish thoughts.
Stefanos says "it takes a while to be able to keep up withtheir mental dueling"
Viola says "I said why not.  See?  So I did."
Zorya says "HOOO! (sounds like indeed!)"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "sO, WHY DO YOU NOT EXPRESS YOUR OPINION?"
Viola sighs and walks away.
Stefanos says "kill her Lucias... Save me the trouble"
Mikelle stands away from the centre of all this, watching expectantly.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Stefanos.  Surely you have more respect for me than to ask that."
Viola heads back toward her sanctum.
Zorya starts after Viola catching up and says: Don't fear. Barking dogs don't bite.
Mikelle says "You know, Lucias, I don;t think he does."
Viola says "Stupid dog."
Mikelle moves over to Viola and Zorya
Mikelle says "So, you flee this debate?"
Viola says "Debate?"
Stefanos says "perhaps we should take a vote and see whether Viola's would have made a difference"
Zorya says "But an honored Bonisagus. He won't bite you."
Mikelle says "A debate appeared to start."
Viola shrugs, "He asked, I said.  See?"
Mikelle says "He didn;t see."
Viola sighs and rolls her eyes.
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Viola.  I do not see.  Make sense.  Startiong now."
Mikelle says "But you gave up. As did Zorya. Go back there and at least face Lucias' mood, or I vote no."
Mikelle heads back to the council chamber
Zorya says "Come on, butterfly. The Code protects you and so do I."
Zorya heads back to the room.
Viola sits petulantly in the entrance to the hallway.
Zorya says "You scared her, honored one."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "That was unintentional.  And Ishould apologise for it.  Viola, would you accept my apology?"
Stefanos says "If she can't make sense of two simple words, she deserves to be scared!"
Zorya says "She's just a little girl, be gentle."
Stefanos says "she is a maga! Her age is irrelevant!"
Viola nods and approaches again.
Viola glares at Stefanos.
Mikelle says "There are several children here, Zorya"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Thank you.  Would you kindly explain what you meant?  In a way I can understand."
Zorya smiles at Mikelle.
Lucias ex Bonisagus Lucias is calming down a bit.  Or at least trying to.
Stefanos says "Now... the next word out of your mouth will be either yes, or no. Do you have any objections to Zorya joining the covenant?"
Mikelle says "Who?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "No!  Don't start that again!?!"
Viola sighs, "I meant why not?  So why not?  It's fine. See?
Stefanos says "Good. I understood that. Anyone have any problems following her opinion now?"
Zorya says "No."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Viola.  Why not is why not so fine see.  Yes.  Very much.  Would you consider doing me a personal favour?"
Viola says "What?"
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Would you please cut your throat?"
Viola rolls the die, which comes up a 7.
Viola sponts a spell.
Viola cuts her throat dramatically, blood gushing all over Lucias.
Mikelle applauds
sarcastically
slowly
at an even and measured rate
Zorya jumps to the window.
Mikelle says "Don;t woory Zorya, the children are just playing."
You say "Lucias, roll your magic resistance to see if you can resist fake blood"
Vitenka rolls a fake_blood_resistance, it comes up... 7
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Thank you very much."
Zorya says "humans... "
Zorya sighs,
You say "yes, the blood disappears as it hits you."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Viola, if you ever need someone to help you with something like that, I'm sure I'll be willing to help."
Lucias ex Bonisagus says "Now, since useful discussion is not happening, and this is not a good place to write - I will be elsewhere, composing a charter."
Lucias ex Bonisagus makes for the door
Zorya says "Anyone else who wants to disply his arts?"
Mikelle says "Why don;t we get Lucias back for the voting, sorry "opinions". He seemed to think it was rather important."
Lucias ex Bonisagus walks out of the door.
Mikelle says "OOC- oops , consider the last sentence addressed directly to Lucias then - as in why don;t you stay for the... you seemed to think"
Lucias ex Bonisagus has left.
Mikelle says "Has been amply stated"
Mikelle says "Now, does anyone have one single objection to Zorya joining us here?"
Stefanos says "none..."
Viola shakes her head.
Mikelle says "Good, so what have you been talking about for the last hour?"
Mikelle says "You don;t even have an answer. That's rather sad really.  Good day to you all, and to Zorya, welcome to Haunted Springs."
Mikelle turns to Stefanos.
Stefanos says "what Mikelle?"
Zorya says "Hooo."
Zorya says "I'm out in the trees if you need me."
Mikelle says "What do you mean, what?"
Zorya flies out of the window.
Mikelle waves, and turns to Stefanos.
Viola crosses her arms and looks at the ceiling and waits to see if anything interesting is going to happen.
Mikelle says "You were saying?"
Stefanos says "you gave me one of your looks! Like you were going to say something..."
Zorya pages: Well, I think I'll start building a nest in one of the trees.
Mikelle says "OOC - dammit, I was, but your what distracted me."

Mikelle makes to leave
Mikelle walks out the door (leaving Stefanos speechless?)
Stefanos says "I will search for a fruitful conflict another time"
