Ulrich says "OK, I'll just describe you the situation again:"
You are in a large cave. A few torches give very little light. The air is full of smoke and you can hear a wild mixture of sounds: hammering, hissing sounds (like water meeting something hot), sounds like rushing water. groaning people and other weird stuff you can't make out. Despite the noise you are alone in this cave. You can see another toadstool circle in the middle of the cave and 12 tunnels leading away from here.
Stefanos says "are there any visible exits?"
Ulrich says "You mean besides the 12 tunnels?"
Mikelle chants, and holds up the stump of her left arm
Light comes from Mikelle's stump, illuminating the surroundings.
Stefanos says "do the torches give off les light than we would expect for them to?"
Mikelle says "That should make things a little clearer"
Viola wrinkles her nose.
Ulrich says "No, they are only few and it's a large cave. And the air is somewhat thick"
Stefanos says "which direction is the groaning coming from"
Ulrich says "Some of the tunnels..."
Stefanos says "so they are coming from various directions..."
Ulrich nods.
Mikelle says "Well. Enough of this arguing. I'm not goign to stand around trying to make sense of your meaningless drivel. Lets see what's out there."
Ulrich says "If you take one step into each tunnel you can make out four tunnels with groaning sounds."
Stefanos takes one of the torches and heads towards one of the tunnels where groaning is coming from
Mikelle says "Mikelle follows, holding up her bright light."
Viola shrugs and follows.
Stefanos says "so each tunnel immediately branches into four others???"
Ulrich says "No, sorry. Four of the tunnels from the original cave had these sounds."
Carefully you walk down the tunnel. After some 100 paces you come to the end of the tunnel where a dwarf is slamming his pick-axe against the wall, obviously mining the iron ore. He does not look happy at all.
Stefanos says "what is his reaction to the light?"
Ulrich says "None. He keeps working."
Viola says "eww..iron"
Stefanos moves closer to the dwarf
Ulrich says "And he's the one groaning here."
Viola says "does it look like regular iron or faerie iron?"
Stefanos says "Any reactions?"
Ulrich says "He looks frightend."
Mikelle says "What is this place?"
Stefanos says "Fear not... we are not here to harm you..."
Ulrich says "By the way: his left foot is chained to the floor,"
Ulrich says "An iron chain."
Stefanos says "Anyone want to PeTe that chain? Mikelle?"
Ulrich says "He keeps working - maybe not as paniced as before but that's hard to tell."
Viola stand around looking extremely displeased.
Sir Richard has arrived.
Mikelle says "Can you not talk?"
Sir Richard looks at the chain in extreme distaste
Sir Richard bends over and tries to pull the chain from the wall where it's embedded
The dwarf mumbles something like: Ivegoddawork.
Stefanos says "Who has chaned you here (OOC: Oh short one)?"
Viola whispers "oh...any idea if that iron chain is the normal type or the faerie type?"
Ulrich whispers to Viola: "No faerie iron."
The dwarf mumbles: deamon
Mikelle says "Well, lets get rid of that chain."
Mikelle bends over the chain, gesturing with her good hand
Mikelle says "I call the power of flame into this chain, to burn and consume it's shape!"
Mikelle stands back smiling slightly.
The chain begins to glow... and breaks.
The dwarf jumps up and rubs his leg. It looks seriously hurt. He smiles at Mikelle mumbling something like "sankyoo"
Viola smiles.
Mikelle says "What is this place, dwarf?"
Stefanos looks at the dwarf's leg and casts a CrCo to heal him
Miklos has arrived.
Nararn has arrived.
Stefanos says "What is your name, dwarf?"
Mikelle turns to Nararn
The leg obviously heals a bit. The dwarf looks surprised. The he turns to Mikelle and says: Our mine. Daemon came and took it. We're all slaves.
Mikelle says "Keep watch up the tunnel. If you see anything, shout"
Mikelle turns back
Mikelle says "A daemon. Where is it?"
The dwarf say: Oh, I'm Hotzenplotz, and who are you?
The dwarf says: Daemonsdownbytheforge.Besilentplease.
Stefanos says "I am Stefanos ex Tytalus and these are my companions: Mikelle ex Tytalus and Viola ex Merinita and our friends"
The dwarf goes round and shakes everyones hands.
He looks a bit confused ar Mikelle...
Stefanos says "Where is the forge Hozenplotz?"
Viola blanches.
The dwarf says: Nonononodontgothereitsamightydaemon!
Ulrich says "He speaks _very_fast and is hard to understand. :)"
Mikelle whispers "How mighty? I will face it if I can defeat it.
The dwarf looks shocked.
Mikelle whispers "How many others of your kind are imprisoned here?
The dwarf says: Miiiiiiiiiiighty! ...and stretches his arms as long as he can.
Viola says "OOC oh...sh'es whipsering ot hte dwarf"
Mikelle says "OOC - he told us to be quiet - I'm not stupid"
The dwarf whispers: Well... theres... (he recalls some names)... err... that's err... about 40.
Mikelle says quietly, "We should free the others, and then try and destroy this daemon. Will any of you dwarves help? You may be individually weak, but together and with our help, we can drive this thing from your home!"
The dwarf cries: NOoo. (quietly now) Oooops... I mean... No, I will not face that daemon again. nononono...
Stefanos says "Relax.. Hozenplotz... we will not make you go there if you do not wish to..."
The dwarf says: I will free my brothers out in the tunnels, but I will not face that daemon!
Stefanos says "but we must free your people... show us to where they are"
The dwarf says: Some, maybe ten, are in the tunnels. I take care of them. The others are at the forge - with the daemon.
Viola says "all this.....ick iron"
Viola says "forge?  what?"
Mikelle says, withg a tone of steely determination "You must not be afraid. Fear kills hope, and without hope you are doomed. We can fight this thing, if we are not afraid. We may win. We may lose, but we should not fear.
The dwarf is close to tears now: He forces us to forge IRON swords....
Viola cringes visibly.
The dwarf says: The mine has silver too, but not here.
Mikelle says "Then we should stop him. The alternative is that iron will keep being forged here. You can make a difference., if you do not fear!"
The dwarf says (unbelievingly): I show you the way, but I will not go there!
Mikelle says "So tell us, what can this demon do, what must we overcome?"
Stefanos listens intently to the dwarf's reply
The dwarf says: He spits fire like a dragon and his touch is like iron. Oh, and he has two friends with whips.
Mikelle says "You cannot fight the demon, but if we fight the demon, will you fight his friends, to free yours?"
The dwarf says: The two with the wips are not strong, but the firespitting one... *he shudders*
The dwarf says: Lets free my brothers in the other tunnels first.
Mikelle says "Yes. Lets"
Ulrich says "OK, to cut it short: You can free eight more dwarfs who deside to join your force."
Stefanos whispers to his companions... "beware this daemon... if we are to defeat this one it will take all of us"
Ulrich says "The he shows you the tunnel that leads to the forge."
Stefanos says "I don't suppose any of you has any vim vis on you?"
Mikelle says "No, but we have our resolve. Now we need a plan. What is the layout of the forge?"
Ulrich says "Well... Do you sneak there to take a look?"
Mikelle says "I was asking the dwarves"
After about 200 paces the tunnel opens to another large cave. You've got a nice view from the end of the tunnel. A wide ramp leads down into the cave. At the bottom you can see a huge melting furnace with a couple of dwarfs working there. More to the edges of the cave there are about a dozen dwarfs and imps obviously forgeing something. All dwarfs and imps are chained to their working places. There are three creatures not chained: two large figures in dark cloaks with whips that frequently hit the dwarfes with the wips to make them work faster. And one three leged figure stitting on a throne-like stone at the opposite side. This last figure seems to burn with dark blue-ish flames. Now and then he spits fire at the melting furnace and it seems to get even hotter. A wind stinking of sulfur hits you.
Stefanos has a terrified look on his face and he swallows audibly
Viola says "demons..iron...ick"
Mikelle says "OK, I suggest we try and sneak in and split up. I'll get within range of the demon and attack it, the put a wall to block its counterattack.You two go round the sides and strat freeing the dwarves . I trust you ahve suitable aggressive spells, so that once the demon is coming fro me you can attack it. The dwarves just have to keep the creatures with whips off us. Suggestions?"
Stefanos says " can set up a defensive circle ..... "
Mikelle says "Against demons? How strong"
Stefanos says "strong enough I hope... it has worked before"
Ulrich says "The dwarf pat their pick-axes and say: Let us free our brothers."
Mikelle says "Do you have to stay in the circle?"
Stefanos says "yes, you have to stay in the circle to get any benefit. The demon will not be abkle to enter... I hope"
Viola says "what..um...well a demon. how well what can you hurt it?"
Mikelle says "Right, I suggest you set that up just before the forge. Then the dwarves and Viola sneak in and start to free the others. I'll go in and hit it with an incantation, you two attack it once it comnes after me, while the dwraves take care of the things with whips and free the others. If things go badly we get back to the circle, and then Stefanos and I try and hold it off, while everyone else gets out of there."
Stefanos says "Agreed... I will set up the circle near the forge"
Mikelle says "Do you both have offensive magics that might affect that thing?"
Stefanos says "but I fear I wioll have to draw attention to myself in doing so"
Mikelle says "We're going to have to draw attention to ourselves,  to do anything. What's the matter? Scared?"
Viola looks thoughtful.
Stefanos says "Only a fool would not be scared here, Mikelle! and You are no fool"
Viola says "hm..hard to hurt I think"
Mikelle says "I fear it, but I am not scared. I do not let my fear rule me. For if I did I would be weaker."
Stefanos says "Anybody have high PeIg... Au or Te? Of course PeVi would be ideal"
Mikelle says "And if things go badly, we should flee. If you do not survive, you do not grow stronger."
Stefanos says "agreed..."
Mikelle says "My Perdo Auram is competent, though I have more direct methods of attack."
Stefanos says "PeIg, Mikelle?"
Viola ponders.
Mikelle says "Viola, perhaps you could use muto on the dwarves chains somehow? If you could break them all, then even if we are forced to retreat, the dwarves will be able to escape."
Mikelle says "I don't plan on letting the fiery breath hit me."
Stefanos says "Bring forth your weapons all..."
Edward unsheaths his sword.
Stefanos casts a PeVi on the weapons of all who wish it
Nararn sighs and readies his crossbow
Viola hmms.
Miklos looks grim and strides forward next to Mikelle.
Ulrich(RL) rolls a couple of dice.
Ulrich says "Whose weapons get spells from Stefanos?"
Stefanos says "Sir Richard and Nantos for sure"
NArarn and Miklos are derfinately - they're used to magic
Edward says "You can cast it on mine, sir."
Ulrich says "Nantos weapon (sword?) starts to glow for some strange reason. The others do not look changed."
Stefanos says "and Stefanos' himself of course"
Viola smirks.
Ulrich says "Well... My first big combat... OK, what do you intend to do? Since it is noisy and smoky you can sneak in unnoticed. Just tell me what everyone wants to do first."
Mikelle says "RIght, Mikelle is moving into position and waiting for the others to start freeing the dwarves. Once they do, she's going to incanation that demon.""
Stefanos stands behind the forge and starts casting a Circular Ward against Demons... liberal voice and geasticulation
Sir Richard stands behind Stefanos, sword drawn
Nantos stands next to Sir Richard sword glowing in his hand
Edward stands next to the otheres, while Viola cringes in back.
Ulrich says "The dwarfs creep slowly to their brothers."
Mikelle says "But in game, I move cautiously into position"
Mikelle raises her left hand and gestures, chanting.
Mikelle points her finger
There is a flash of light and a crash of thunder, and a blast of lightening leaps from Mikelle's hand, to strike  the three legged daemon.
Ulrich says "Well, once Stefanos starts casting his ward, the daemon notices him and raises a huge cry. The same second you can hear a load metallic BANG when the free dwarfs scatter their brothers chains. Mikelle rises to get a free view on that daemon and starts chanting something."
Ulrich says "Gimme a role, Stef & Mikelle"
Stefanos rolls the die, which comes up a 2.
Mikelle rolls a die, it comes up... 6
Viola says "OOC, how big and how high is hte cavern, and what's the floor made of?"
Miklos stands ready in case the demon does something
Mikelle says "Targetting roll-"

Ulrich says "Stone, about 15 meters high."
Ulrich says "The daemon was just about to spit fire on Stefanos when the lightning strikes him. He howls."
Nantos advances towards  the demon... obviously terrified, but still moving
Nararn takes careful aim at one of the things with whips
Ulrich says "The daemon now looks _very_ angry at Mikelle and draws in some air. Stefanos manages to finish his spell unburned."
Stefanos begins chanting again...
Viola looks reflectively at the ceiling.
Viola begins to cast a spell.
Sir Richard moves in behind Nantos, towards the demon
Nantos howls and strikes at the demon
Viola whispers "I'l tyr a MuTe to turn the ceiling over htbig demon's head into gravel...changing the shape of stone is level 4, but the duration only needs ot be Conc or Diam and the the range needs to be Far which, cancels out...the tagert should be Ind though so I think that's level 5"
NArarn fires.
Mikelle rolls a die, it comes up... 2
Ulrich says "OK, behind you a lot of dwarfs shout - and flee. Nantos try init please."
Nararn fires, his shot not up to his usual standard (a 13 to hit)

Edward runs over to engage one of the whippersnappers.
Ulrich says "Nantos, your attack?"

Ulrich says "Maybe good luck, since only half a second later a dart flies right trough the same daemon..."
Nantos scrambles for his sword
Mikelle says "Through.. you mean like it isn;t there?"
Ulrich says "Exactly."
Ulrich says "Meanwhile Mikelle tries to speed up her casting because the fire daemon starts to spit at her."

Ulrich says "The fire daemon: Things happen almost simultaneosly: He spits with a lot of strength - and falls flat misfireing a bit. Mikelles right arm gets burned a bit (+15 Damage - please soak) and then Mikelle vanishes behind a wall."

Ulrich says "The daemon starts rushing towards Stefanos."

Ulrich says "OK, the whip hits Nantos doing a damage of 19 (soak please) and the wounds BURN LIKE HELL! For some strange reason the string of that whip winds around Nantos sword and... vanishes. The sword stops glowing. The daemon looks confused - and Edward may attack from behind."
Edward says "should I roll?"
Edward rolls the die, which comes up a 5.

Ulrich says "Yes - damage. You can't miss that thing."

Ulrich says "Edward & Nantos cut the damn thing into pices."

Stefanos says "nantos rolled a 1 and then a 4 on a stess die"
Mikelle says "Add 8 to whatever your soak base is"
Ulrich says "Did it hurt?"
Nantos says "So a soak total of 9... he isn't wearing any armour"
Nantos screams in pain
Ulrich says "So thats two body levels?"
Nantos says "yes, two body levels"
Ulrich says "Poor guy..."
Nantos works himself to his feet and leans against a wall, his sword on the ground, grasping at his wound
Ulrich says "Well, back to the muddy fireball on three legs... Sir Richard waits inside the circle?"
Sir Richard says "if he can get there before the demon, yes. Otherwise he intercepts it before..."
Viola is right behind Sir Richard.
Ulrich says "OK, Sir Richard arrives inside the circle with just enough time to raise his sword."
Ulrich rolls a _lot_ of dice...

Ulrich says "OK, this is what happens: The daemon rushes towards you. Sir Richard raises his sword to chop the damn thing. The daemon tripes over something and falls - slideing towards you still fast. A flash of lightning strikes it- comeing from Mikelle. Suddenly the daemon gets hit by something invisible and stops right on the spot. Then you hear loud voices calling from behind and _lots_ of water pour down the ramp."
Mikelle sways with the effort of the spell
Viola turns around to see what's happenign behind us.
Stefanos staggers slightly but retains his balance and begins casting another spell
Ulrich says "Oh, and Viola casts something. "
Ulrich says "Well, behind you a lot of water pours down - from about 30 cheering dwarfs."
Stefanos says "does SR cut the thing?"
say Sir Richard looks quite confused at some dripping wet ball of fur with three legs. :)

Ulrich says "It bleeds black blood."
Ulrich says "...and suddenly reverts to two small flames that quickly die down in the water."
Stefanos falls heavily to the ground in exhaustion
Viola giggles briefly, then returns to being concenred about the water.
Mikelle says "It would have been nice to know th edwarves were planning that."
Mikelle says "OOC how much water is there?"
Ulrich says "Well, what do you thing how much can 30 dwarfs carry?"
Edward grabs Viola and starts dragging her back up the ramp.
Ulrich says "Not enough to be a danger for you - but enough to kill a daemon that was twice hit by lightning."
Mikelle goes over to Nantos
Edward pauses to rest in that case.
Nantos collapses
Ulrich says "30 dwarfs dance and sing happily around you."
Ulrich says "Oh, and you get fresh water to drink. :)"
Viola smiles.
Mikelle sits down to rest. She smiles at the singing.
Viola begins to cast a spell.
Viola walks in a circle around the dwarves.
Mikelle says "gets up and goes to check on Nantos (sorry wasn't concentrating) "
Ulrich says "After Viola chanted and walked a circle things get strange... really strange... Errr... Viola, please explain. :)"
Viola says "IC fun :)"
Viola says "OOC, The Feast of Delights..who doesn't have Houses of Hermes?"
Stefanos says "OOC: I swear if any butterflies appear, I'll kill her!"

Mikelle says "If its funny it works :)"

Ulrich says "After some minutes the dwarfs also managed to get some bread & cheese."
Mikelle says "OOC what does the spell do?"

Mikelle looks at Viola , shrugs and takes the wine.
Viola smiles.
Viola dances with a dwarf.
Ulrich says "It tastes yellow and smells like medivieal pink floyd. :)"
Mikelle drinks it, looks around, smiles again, and strides out of the circle. She then sits down and starts to think about Creo Corpus to ensure her arm heals well.
Stefanos has partially disconnected.

Well, that's when Stefanos left us. Everyone may party a little and will get a good nights rest.
